Overview
The 2520 potato weigher bagging machine is Tong’s highest output potato and other vegetable weighing machine, offering high capacity crop weighing of up to 600 bags or 12-15 tons per hour on 25kg bags.
Suitable for use on a wide range of root crops and on bag or tray sizes from 12.5kg to 50kg, the 2520 bagging machine offers efficient parsnip weighing, brussels sprout weighing, potato weighing, and more.
Reduced stoppage time bagging machine
Manufactured with two double belt feed systems, the 2520 weigher bagger allows continuous weighing. As one batch is weighed and discharged, the second batch is weighed ready for discharge, meaning minimal stoppage time for bag or tray changing, and maximum output.
Like the smaller crop weigher, each double belt feed system on the 2520 robot palletiser comprises of the main feeding belt alongside a trickle or ‘top-up’ belt for accurate potato weighing. The double belt feeding systems use crop pilers to move crop up to load cell mounted tanks which weigh crop within the tank, making the weights in batches. The batches of crop are discharged out of the tank’s pneumatic gates, onto a cross or forward conveyor feeding into either a central or end fitted pneumatic bagging head, chute or automated netting equipment. All of which are fitted with pneumatic bag jaws to hold bags in place.
The 2520 weigher bagging machine is also suitable for weighing trays, in which case the whole process is the same as weighing bags, but instead of pneumatic bags jaws holding bags, the crop conveyor gently discharges crop directly into the tray.
Features
HEAVY DUTY BELTS
The 2520 weigher features two heavy duty double belt feed systems. Each comprising of two 50mm flighted belts; a 415mm wide main belt and a 100mm wide ‘top-up/trickle’ belt, that gently feed crop up to the weighing tanks. Depending on your weighing application and requirements, the 2520 is available with a choice of two lengths for the infeed systems. The 2520S is built with shorter, 3.6m long belts and the 2520L is built with a 4.3m long belt.
BATCH WEIGHING
Weighing crop in batches within the machine’s load cell mounted tanks, as opposed to weighing within the bag. The 2520 weigher allows continuous weighing; as one batch is weighed and discharged, the second batch is weighed ready for discharge. Meaning minimal stoppage time for bag or tray changing, and maximum throughput.
LED TOUCH-SCREEN CONTROL
The 2520 weigher features the latest LED touch-screen display making the weigher exceptionally user-friendly. Adjustable at the touch of a button, the 2520’s touch screen display makes machine control simpler and more productive.
SECURE BAG CLAMP
When used for filling bags, the 2520 weigher discharges crop into either a central or end fitted pneumatic bagging head, chute or automated netting equipment, all of which are fitted with pneumatic bag jaws which hold bags in place securely throughout the weighing process, releasing the bag once the desired weight is achieved.
BAG CONVEYOR
The 2520 weigher is available with the option of a heavy duty bag conveyor with integrated side guards, to effectively receive filled bags. The bag conveyor is manufactured with a 2.5m long x 300mm wide grip top belt as standard, but can be manufactured in any size to suit your application. It is commonly used in conjunction with a fixed or hand-held stitcher, passing filled bags along the conveyor making the entire bag weighing and stitching process run more smoothly. A similar option for conveying filled trays is also available.
