EasyGrade Vegetable Screen Sizing

Tong’s single EasyGrade screen module is available in a range of standard widths from 2 ft. to 7 ¾ ft. The standard length of the single EasyGrade module is approximately 5ft long with one row of agitators and a 3ft wide side delivery endless self-tracking conveyor, which is slideable and reversible so that sized crop can be delivered to either side of the screen module.

Tong’s twin EasyGrade screen module is available in standard widths from 2 ft. to 7 ¾ ft. The twin module comprises of two 5ft long screen modules, with one row of agitators in each. Each screen also has its own 3ft wide side delivery endless self-tracking conveyor, which is slideable and reversible so that sized crop can be delivered to either side of the screen module. The option of a transfer roller between screen sections and extended screen options are available on twin models.

Tong’s triple EasyGrade screen module is available in standard widths of 2 ft. to 7 ¾ ft. The triple module comprises of three 5ft long screen modules, with one row of agitators in each. Each screen also has its own 900mm wide side delivery endless self-tracking conveyor which is slideable and reversible so that sized crop can be delivered to either side of the screen module. The option of a transfer roller between screen sections and extended screen options are available on the triple models.

Extended EasyGrade screen modules have just under 1 foot longer sizing length giving a total screen length of approximately 6ft, with two rows of agitators. Tong’s extended sizing screens offer a longer sizing band suitable for higher volumes, as well as better separation of tubers in extreme conditions. This is particularly useful when sizing longer tuber varieties; the extra length of the screen and additional agitation helps to improve separation whilst spreading crop evenly, for more accurate sizing.

Tong’s EasyGrade screen module with integral stone and clod remover has been specifically designed to bring together sizing and separating in one process.

Tong’s Stone & Clod EasyGrade innovatively combines agitated screen sizing ,with a steel bounce roller mounted inside to effectively size crop and subsequently separate stone and clod from the undersized crop, reducing unnecessary wastage of smaller crop in one simple process. By combining the sizing and separating processes, the Stone & Clod EasyGrade offers significant space savings in comparison with using separate sizing and separating equipment. Offering a compact and efficient solution which allows smaller crop to be easily resold or replanted.

Variable speed motors are also a feature of this sizing machine, allowing speed to be controlled according to required throughput and weather conditions. As standard, the machine is fully mobile and can be easily integrated into a new or existing sizing line. The new Stone & Clod EasyGrade can also be manufactured as part of Tong Peal’s market leading sizing machine – The Caretaker. Available in sizes ranging from 4ft to 8ft in width, the unit can handle all crop sizes and is capable of throughputs up to 500 tons per hour.

The EasyGrade sampling system offers effective sizing of vegetable samples, with the standard design featuring four Easy Grade Screen modules configured in a row, each approximately 1 ½ ft wide. Tong’s sizing sampling system is driven by two variable speed motors. One to control the sizing screen speed, and the other to control the level of agitation on the screens. As with standard EasyGrade screens, sized crop falls through the screens, but instead of being discharged onto a conveyor, crop falls onto a chute that effectively delivers sized crop to crates, trays or boxes.
